★★★½ Watched 27 Feb, 2021
Showing the absurdity of the year 2020 in which most governments in the world failed their people and a lot of those people failed to hold them accountable. The focus is on the USA and Great Britain because frankly, the creators originate from and are representing those two countries. Satire is dialed up appropriately, which delivered through short witty comments wrapped in sarcasm or irony hit home hard enough to make it an enjoyable experience. Actors in the roles of politicians, scientists, entrepreneurs, and regular people took their roles seriously which boosted the desired comedic effect. Samuel L. Jackson and particularly Hugh Grant delivered a great performance.
Overall the impact was not as strong as I expected from creators of the excellent and poignant Black Mirror series. Also mostly focusing on the USA/UK with brief mentions of events in the rest of the world made it less significant to me. It was done well but had the potential to be great.
